I am a passionate hobbiest. I've delved into periods of photography, music production, digital video production, woodworking, bushcraft, hunting, and many more. Each of these hobbies gives me an opportunity to grow my skills outside of technology and serve as a creative outlet. I love chasing the feeling of satisfaction and pride in myself when I finally unlock a new skill by creating something from nothing.
My dad first introduced me to technology in the form of "building" a computer from a collection of mismatched parts when I was young. From then, I've always been interested in taking things apart and understanding how the system ticks. After college, I became a software engineer which unlocked vast capabilities to understand and build systems. I consider myself a technologist moreso than a software engineer or DevOps engineer because those skills are tools in my toolbelt that I can use to solve problems. Technology as a whole is a strong enabler and I look forward to further developing my skills to solve more complex problems.
Leadership is a topic I hold near and dear to my heart. Through my years of experience in the corporate world, I've identified a gap between how organizations identify leaders and managers. It is my personal driving purpose to build foundations within organizations to allow individuals to bring their own style and flair to their teams, making strong leaders over managers.
